YONGER & BRESSON - FRENCH WATCHMAKER SINCE 1975
1975: The Louzon brothers, two watch aficionados based in Paris, launch their own watchmaking brand: Yonger & Bresson.A 20mm sporty yet elegant silicone strap or a retro chic leather strap are proposed for perfect versatility. The straps come with a refined steel deployment clasp to hold your timepiece securely on your wrist yet with style.
"Yonger" was meant to symbolize youth and energy while "Bresson" is the name of the famous French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson who pioneered the genre of street photography and one of the founding members of Magnum Photos in 1947. The brand's name evoque French artistic creativity, uniqueness, quality and watchmaking savoir-faire.
Located in the emblematic Temple Street within the trendy Parisian Marais district (home of renowned designers and brands), Yonger & Bresson draws inspiration from this neighborhood's Artsy vibe, a favorite place of many artists throughout French history.
Today, Yonger & Bresson has evolved into a Swiss-French brand: Timepieces are designed in partnership with the Franck Muller design team led by Gabriele Guidi, a Swiss watch designer well-known in the luxury watchmaking world who has designed countless famous high-end collections for Longines, Tissot, Bulova and Universal Geneve, while assembling is carefully being taken care by expert watchmakers of the Ambre Group (major luxury group of French watch brands like YEMA) in the small town of Morteau located in the French Jura mountains, the cradle of French watchmaking.
With nearly 50 years of experience as a watchmaker, Yonger & Bresson has tirelessly thrived to elaborate elegant and affordable mechanical timepieces for watch aficionados. The 316L steel tonneau-shaped case harmoniously highlights the dial while offering comfort and elegance. Its unique slightly curved shape adapts perfectly to the wrist. The vertical brushed case finishing and the engraved crown highlights the refined aesthetics of Le SINGULIER.
When partnering up with Gabriele Guidi from Franck Muller's Design Team, we wanted to create elegant timepieces with the modern avant-garde twist given to it by Franck Muller in its signature designs. Named LE SINGULIER which means unique in French, this Collection is the embodiment of all of Gabriele’s vast experience in luxury watch design.
The skeleton dial offers a completely open vision of the intricacies of the automatic movement, beautifully decorated by Industrial Art Deco inspired gears in a delicate and elegant steel pattern. The refined hands are tinted with a special heating technique to ensure flawless aesthetics and longevity. No aspect of the dial has been overlooked and every tiny detail has been considered up to the sweeping hand's being decorated with the forged crown of Yonger & Bresson.
Smooth, curvaceous and highly scratch-resistant, the K1 mineral crystal protecting the dial is usually found in high-end watches because of the construction complexity of its two convex faces. Its curved appearance elegantly follows the curves as the tonneau case and provides a 180 degrees view of all components sitting on the dial, the watch hands and the apparent mechanical movement.
